 It worked okay, for a while :( Sep 03, 2010
The first time I used this mop I would have told you that it was the best thing since sliced bread! After a few uses, it didn't seem to steam as much and it only steamed if you held down the trigger. At this point I was starting to become disapointed in the product. After about a 12 uses, it just died. Just completely stopped. Red light off. Dead. I never used anything other than distilled water, per the manufacturers instructions. Unfortunately, it's no longer under warranty. I won't be purchasing this lemon again.

The first time you use the product, the pad becomes black from the plastic at the bottom of the device. The black does not come off in the wash. Although the red light indicates that the device is ready, it takes a long time for the device to emit steam. The other issue is that if you are only using distilled water, is the floor really clean? It is easier to use than a mop but again I am not sure how clean you are really getting the floor.

This works great. It's chemical free and the floors are left clean with no sticky residue. It is a lot quicker than doing floors by hand or with other mops. It even steams the hairspray off the bathroom floor with ease.
Some reviews express concerns because it leaves water residue behind, and it doesn't pick up debris off the floor. As for the debris, you simply have to sweep the floor before washing it, just like you normally would before mopping. As for the water, it does leave a wet residue but it dries quicker than other washing methods. I would't use it on wood floors due to this, but it works great on other hard floors.
Overall, it's been a huge time saver, it works great, and it's chemical free. Highly recomended for anyone with lots of hard floors to wash.

I purchased this steam mop for tile bathrooms at my fitness center. I have used a conventional mop with water and floor cleaner, and started to notice the grout lines seemed to not be clean. After using the steam mop a few times, you can notice a difference in the overall cleanliess of the floors. I will sometimes use a spray bottle with floor cleaner, to aid the steam mop, if the floors are exceptionally dirty. Great product for a great price!

The Bissell Steam Mop Hardfloor cleaner is wonderful! It cleans the floor great. You dont have to use messy soapy water. You dont have to keep refreshing the water to make sure its clean. The best thing is you dont have to wait for the floor to dry!!! It is wonderful if you have kids cause the floor wont be dangerously wet and it kills all the germs. I highly recommend this product its great!
